Hop-on Introduces WEB3 DRM Technology OOVE™ with Smart Contracts by Digitalage

Hop-on, Inc., on August 03, 2022, announced its DRM technology OOVE by Digitalage. Using state-of-the-art content production and DRM solutions, Digitalage has built the tools and workflows for publishers, labels, and studios, under the banner OOVE. Hop-on’s OOVE is in the process of filing provisional patents and trademarks.

Digitalage’s OOVE capabilities will focus on the music and entertainment industry, to enable musicians and studios to fight against piracy and create new revenue streams. Adding to its growing suite of products, OOVE creates indelible watermarking, supported by blockchain smart contracts, for all types of media, including video, photos, music and more, and its features include monetization of back catalog discovery.

According to Peter Michaels, CEO, the goal is to help studios, networks and streamers to empower themselves through OOVE’s DRM strategies and technologies. It is time to blend the line between the creator and audience, while creating micro-economies and richer ecosystems beyond just a one-dimensional monetization model.

As part of Digitalage’s UX ethos #innovateforgood, this program requires legal, technical and standards innovation. The metadata will be published by musicians into a machine-readable, distributed database, consumable by all. Anyone can use the smart contract attached to the metadata, and enter into an automated agreement to buy and use the rights attached to it. A media custodian, as part of the agreement, will disburse the media for its particular usage.

A couple of months back, Digitalage had attended VidCon US 2022 from June 22 to June 25, 2022 – the first major gathering since the start of the pandemic of an eclectic bunch of internet followers where mega fans could interact with their favorite creators. The purpose of the convention was to introduce Digitalage and its #influencethefuture marketing campaign.

In today’s economy, goliath platforms are the ones reaping the rewards of content posted online. They raise the thresholds for payouts and boost their own bottom line. Peter Michaels said that Digitalage attended the event to firmly promote their vision and belief that the content creator should be the sole owner of the content, and also control their audience, decide the platform where it is seen, and find ways to monetize it.  Creators are often not compensated for their efforts, and it is time to change that.  There were over 70,000 attendees at VidCon, while the response was amazing, so they are more enthusiastic as they work towards executing the vision to democratize content creation in a Web3 economy.
