Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC) Takes A Dig At Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) M1 Mac Silicon Chips

For years Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) have ahead a strong partnership until Apple decided to have Mac computers using in-house produced chips. There are still some Macs with Intel chips, but Apple’s M1 chips have been lauded for their efficiency and performance. Despite all the praise, Intel has taken a dig at the M1 Mac through a campaign showing things users cannot perform with an M1 Mac.

Intel running ad campaign against Apple’s M1 Mac

Intel is running the new campaign on Twitter and other sites claiming that there are some things Windows PCs can do that M1 Mac can’t do. In one of the ads, Intel indicates that it is only a windows PC that can offer tablet mode, stylus, and touch screen capabilities in one device.

Also, another aggressive campaign ad claims that Macs will not be ideal for gamers and engineers because Windows offers a wider catalog of games and software compared to macOS. The ad further indicates that “if you can launch Rocket League you are not on Mac” because macOS discontinued the game in 2020.

Besides the web ads, Intel’s campaign equally includes a paid video with Jon Rettinger. The YouTuber explains the advantages of having a regular laptop rather than an M1 MacBook, highlighting things such as working with two external displays, eGPU support, touchscreen, and standard USB ports.

Intel says its 11th generation “Tiger Lake” is powerful than the M1 chip

Intel also shared a slideshow last week for benchmark results comparing the 11th generation “tiger lake” i7 processors to Apple’s M1 chip. The company was attempting to demonstrate that its processors are powerful compared to Apple’s chip developed for low-power fanless devices.

Apple expects to complete the transition from Intel chips to Apple Silicon Chips by the end of 2022. This implies that from 2023 there will be no Mac computer running in Intel processors. With this said, it is obvious that Intel doesn’t have anything to lose following its campaign against Apple since it has already lost all it could.
